ABANDONED MILITARY BASES
Follow AbandonedWay Teufelsberg is German for Devil’s Mountain. Nowadays, Teufelsberg refers not only to this artificial hill, but also the abandoned listening station that sits on top of it. It is located in the district of Grunewald, West Berlin, Germany. With a height of 120 meters, it is the highest place in Berlin.
In 1954 Sandy Hook Nike Launch Site became home to Nike Site NY-56, one of a series of Nike missile sites that formed a circle around New York City. The remnants of the base are on 20 acres of land in the Sandy Hook Unit of the Gateway National Recreation Area.
At the very tip of the Prevlaka Peninsula is Cape Oštro, the southernmost point of the Croatian mainland. It is at this location that the Punta d’Ostro fortress was built.
