Chelyustino village is an abandoned village located in Tula region, Russia. Urban explorers tried to find that place, but it was very hard to find this village at the first time, it seems that the coordinates were indicated correctly, and the connection on the navigator was excellent, but you can’t see it from the road and that’s it. In general, after spending about an hour, urbex team slowly reached this village.
Chelyustino village began to die out in the mid-80s, by the early 2000s it was completely empty, some houses were used by summer residents, but explorers counted only a few of them, the last signs of life were in this village in 2013.
The whole village consisted of 24 houses, but this is in theory, in fact only a few houses remained alive and those inside were almost completely destroyed. Opened floors, broken furniture, broken stoves. A dozen houses have already been razed to the ground, leaving only the foundations. High grass, interspersed with the remaining fruit trees covered with moss and complete silence, create an atmosphere of horror, and when crows fly overhead, croaking, the eye begins to twitch.
Of course, like any similar abandoned place, it has a huge number of legends and rumors that are passed down from generation to generation.
Until the beginning of the 80s, an old granny lived in one of the houses, an ordinary such old woman, every month she went for milk, her daughter came to her from the city. And here the locals noticed that she had not come for milk for a month, and her daughter had not come either. They got worried, went to the village to her, they opened the door in the house, and there the corpse of this old granny lies. They buried her and then the devilry began in the villages, the cows’ milk turned black, the neighbors began to get sick, the drought began, and all the rains passed by.
And then one old-timer remembered that the old granny was not such a dandelion of God. In her youth, she loved to run away into the forest and disappear there at night, performed rituals, buried dead dogs under the nearest church, the locals shunned her, and once dragged a dead dog with puppies and buried everything separately in different parts of the village.
And after the death of the old granny, a story happened, after which everyone from this village ran wherever their eyes looked. A local drunk climbed into the house of this grandmother, they found him in this house without entrails, they said that the beast had fought, but no one believed it and again remembered the curse of the deceased old woman.
It is clear that all these stories are nothing more than fiction and legends. After 30-40 minutes of walking, these stories began to spin in head of ubex explorers and somehow they felt uneasy. The complete silence, sometimes interrupted by the loud cawing of ravens, plus overcast weather, made the atmosphere ominous. The team did not meet any ghosts, wild animals, a resurrected old granny and other things in the couple of hours that I walked between the remains of houses.
