Comet is a ghost town located 32 kilometers south-southwest of Helena, Montana, United States. It was named for Comet Mine which produced lead, zinc, copper, silver, and gold. The mine was developed in the 1880s and a large mill was built in 1926. The town of Comet has seen several boom and bust cycles. As many as 300 people inhabited the town.
