Hauntingly beautiful urban exploration photos of the abandoned hospital in Saitama Prefecture. The creepy abandoned hospital or mental institution is a common setting in Japan. When we visited this hospital in 2016, it was still full of hundreds upon hundreds of medical instruments, many still in perfect condition.
Unfortunately, by the 2000s, the Japanese hospital was in decline. They shut their doors due to having fewer patients come through, and all hospital buildings were totally abandoned. We gained access to the hospital in 2016, a few years after it closed. The thick walls have badly deteriorated in parts as trees and vines effortlessly pried the bricks apart with their roots, and some cells were flooded with several inches of water.
