Despite the sky-high prices for land and realty, there are still desolate buildings in Japan. This motel had been built in 1973 and was closed and abandoned in 1997. Separate stairs lead from the hall to each of the ten rooms and the interior is very similar to the “love-motels” where you can book a room for two for just a couple of hours.
The first hotel room was decorated in the style of a European palace – statues, columns, antique telephone, large chandelier. There were two spaces in the second abandoned room – an ordinary “Japanese” one with wooden figurines, a stuffed bird, and an old TV set. Another abandoned space was performed in a medieval theme – a knight in armor, a box in the form of a carriage, a Viking ship. The third room represents the hunter’s area: the roof, unfortunately, has leaked out in 15 years, the sofa has been pretty wet with water, and the rotten floor will soon collapse.
