Abandoned Russian Concentrating Factory in Yakutia

Concentrating Factory is a long-abandoned mine and iron ore concentrating and separating plant in Yakutia, Russia. Concentrating Factory is a mining enterprise for the primary processing of solid minerals in order to obtain technically valuable products suitable for industrial use. Often an enrichment plant is part of a mining and processing plant.

With the help of various technologies (flotation, magnetic separation, and others), concentrate is obtained from the mined ore at concentration plants, in which the content of the useful component is much higher than in the feedstock.

Russian concentrating plants in Yakutia process (enrich) ores of non-ferrous metals, ores of ferrous metals, non-metallic minerals, and coal. The rock mass goes through the processes of crushing, screening, classification, the main beneficiation of minerals with the release of concentrates and waste, dehydration, and thickening.

The finished product (concentrate) is sent to bunkers or warehouses, from where it goes for further processing or is sold to the consumer, and the waste in the form of a water-sand (water-clay) suspension is sent to dumps. Enrichment production is characterized by significant energy consumption.
