Afipsip is a rural locality (an aul) and the administrative center of Afipsipskoye Rural Settlement of Takhtamukaysky District, the Republic of Adygea, Russia. The population was 2193 as of 2018.
It is located on the territory of the Takhtamukaysky district of the Republic of Adygea, as well as the Seversky and Abinsky districts of the Krasnodar Territory. The construction of the system on an area of 7.5 thousand hectares was carried out from 1953 to 1962, subsequently, the area of the system was expanded to 16.7 thousand hectares. The system had two sources of irrigation: the first – due to the runoff of the Afipsa, Shebsha, Ubinka rivers, regulated by the Shapsugsky reservoir, and the second section with an area of 1728 hectares – from the Fedorovsky main canal.
